Carrie Pereira has been dancing for over 44 years. Studied in tap, jazz and ballet, starting at the age of six and began teaching dance at the age of 18. Owner of Starstruck Showcase for 13 years.

Performed with an Aerobics performance team her senior year in High School.

Sacramento State University Student. Was involved with their dance performance group, and graduated with a degree in Dance Commercial Training. Also received her Vocational Credential in Dance.

During the summers, taught cheerleading and dance camps for an organization called United Spirit Association for 13 years.

Helped organize and direct cheerleaders at the Disneyworld Christmas parade, at 49er games and at the Hula bowl.

Was selected by United Spirit Association to judge a cheerleading competition in Japan.

Was selected to the Sacramento Kings Dance Team in 1987, and continued dancing with them until 1997. Was the Captain for 9 out of 10 years. Continued working with the dance team from 1997 to 1999 as the Dance Team Director.

Represented the NBA dancers on a tour of NBA players throughout Asia, and also was sponsored by Pepsi-Cola and performed throughout England at the Garden Festival.

After graduating from college, opened up two businesses. Owned and operated the Sacramento Startletts Performing Dance School in Roseville for 10 years. Also owned and operated Carrie's Studio of Dance in Citrus Heights for 10 years. Then went on to open a new dance studio, Cast And Company Dance Alliance, in Roseville with a business partner. Owned and operated this studio for 5 years. Currently, teaching dance at Rocklin Academy of Dance.

Taught dance at Sacramento State University for 8 years, and also taught dance at American River College for 8 years.

Currently is going on the 6th year coaching the Lincoln High School Dance Team, which I love.

Is happily married with two wonderful children. Son Nicolas is 23 and daughter Makenna is 20. Love teaching children and also love being a mom. That is why teaching dance at Elementary Schools is such a wonderful reward.
