
Makenna has been dancing for over 18 years, during which she danced competitively with her town's dance studio.

Makenna was trained in a variety of dance styles including jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, contemporary, and musical theatre.

Makenna started teaching dance when she was 15 years old and has continued to teach competition routines at studios and sideline/competition routines for high school/ middle school dance teams.

She was a member of her high school's dance team for 4 years and served as captain.

She continued her dance training in college, where she attended Boise State University, and was a member of the Boise State Mane Line dance team for 4 seasons. She was captain for her senior year and received the Dancer of the Year award in 2025.

Her team performed at sporting events, community events, and competed at the national level, where they were 2x national grand champions.

Makenna is currently an instructor for the United Spirit Association, where she teaches dance camps to high school and middle school teams around the United States. She also serves as a head instructor, where she leads and organizes each camp.

While at Boise, Makenna earned her degree and credential in early childhood special education and elementary education. Makenna spent a year working as an assistant teacher at a special education preschool and now teaches TK/Kindergarten at The Learning Grove in Roseville.

Makenna is very excited to continue her dancing and teaching journey at Starstruck, where she hopes to spread her love for dance with the students!
